Clause 68 & Appendix 9 · Redundancy

Redundancy Payment

Estimate your redundancy payment using the HPC Agreement's enhanced ready reckoner, which is more generous than the basic statutory scheme at lower service lengths.

Redundancy calculator

This uses the HPC Agreement's Redundancy Ready Reckoner (Appendix 9), which pays out by age and length of continuous service - subject to the statutory maximum week's pay.

Statutory maximum week's pay £719
Table covers ages 18 to 61
Table covers service up to 20 years

The ready reckoner only covers ages 18 to 61. Outside that range, check Appendix 9 directly.

Round down to the last complete year. The table treats under 6 months and under 1 year as separate short bands.

Only choose one of these if your total service is under 2 years - otherwise leave this on the default option.

Base pay, overtime and bonuses, averaged over the last 12 weeks if your pay varies. Capped at the statutory maximum below.

This is an estimate only, based on Appendix 9 of the 2026 ECSA Revision 14. It does not replace an individual assessment, and does not cover notice pay or any other separate entitlement. If your exact age/service combination isn't in the table (ages under 18 or over 61, or gaps in the source table for your age), check Appendix 9 directly or speak to your UNITE representative.

How it works

  • Minimum payments equal at least the statutory redundancy scheme.
  • The HPC scheme is more generous than statutory at lower service lengths.
  • A week's pay is capped at the statutory maximum (£719 from 6 April 2025), which itself is reviewed periodically.
  • Where pay is variable, an average of the previous 12 weeks' pay is used.
  • "Continuous service" generally means uninterrupted service with your current employer.
